What can the Muslim community do to detract from the substantiation for the story being written?
When the facts are facts, it gets tougher to establish credibility which contradict the claims.
Meanwhile, there are some Muslim Palestinians, that continue a plight for the removal of Israel from occupying what they consider their territory and theirs only, the referent, the term Occupied Territories.
Concurrent, is that some have the expectation of all those Muslim to join the plight, and recognition by all religions that everything they do is in the right.

It is unfortunate that lowly spirited persons can affect the reputation of a country on diplomatic levels.
Very serious ostracizing of people that do these crimes is on the table. Reported and unreported. Any more stories such as such-and-such a religious affiliation of men gangs up on European woman, the highest authorities are going to get to the bottom of it. This is whether a staged crime, a group of people pretending to be a religion to bring defamatory reputation and cause ill-will upon the religion, or whether they moved from their native land and feel that once they are in Europe, or in the 'west' they can behave any way they want to.
