Has a Time Arrived of Witnessing an Emergence of a 'Belt of Violence' in Africa?

September 25, 2013
In the aftermath of the siege in Kenya yesterday, presented is whether the world is witnessing a 'belt of violence', a zone, a geographical area, that can be circumscribed, meaning to draw a circle around, in Africa?

The region of his belt is in the sub-Saharan region spanning from Somalia to Nigeria.

Here are some of the crises in the region so far this year that have occurred and, or currently exist:
  • The siege of the Westgate Mall in Kenya
  • A group having to do with Mogadishu in Somalia is reported to be involved with the responsibility of the Westgate mall siege
  • A massacre in Nigeria in the last couple of weeks
  • The Cameroon has been affected by the tension in the regions directly to the east of the country
  • The violence in Rwanda
In pictures, the geographic belt area is circumscribed in purple burgundy:

After Popularly Known Hardship is Over. Roundup September 24th 2013.

September 24, 2013
The flood waters in Colorado let up.  The siege in Kenya finally came to a conclusion.  Talks and arrangements are being made around the world by leaders for solutions of problems of widespread magnitude.  News of China excelling in economics and technology, and projections of finance standing in the future.  South American countries are developing in technologically advanced ways resources that could cause an acceleration of the economy.

Now that the headlines are not inundated by stories of violence, possibly because the severity of the more recent breaking news stories made known are not so shocking and appalling like they were, where violence around the globe was to the extent there was barely any room left for news stories covering subject areas otherwise, it is unfortunate that some of the human family is not clear on, or does not know, what should be taking the headlines.

Images of happiness, and moving away from constant moods dealing with morbidity, has good aspects.
However, a phase after, severe hardship or a day there were stories released of tragedies and catastrophes, is not the green light to place on the next day after the crisis, stories that pull away from upright moral humane character, on the front pages, in there with, and alongside, and just a few paragraphs below, the stories of leaders taking themselves through extreme difficulty and doing almost the impossible to make everyone's lives better.

Two objectives are sound and applicable here:
1. Strike a balance of all good news and leaving out realities
  • the Colorado flood victims are not entirely recuperated from their losses
  • people are still missing in Mexico
  • in other places of the world, the process of identifying bodies due to violence, and burials are taking place
  • there are cities all over the United States with neighborhoods that are not as wealthy as some of the prominent
The conditions of these cannot be left to deteriorate, especially when falling prey to glee in the happiness of the conclusion arriving of a major crisis.  The repercussion of the continued deterioration of bad situations is eventually they become severe enough that they move into the headlines.

2. Stories that pull away from upright morals, and pull away from the fabric of a healthy family, do not have to take precedence over the low dips discussed in objective 1.

The mind, the mentality, and setting moods of readers, that are of peace, can be done while at the same time taking into consideration areas and news which are necessary to cover, which altogether result in a balance that is appropriate, and brings about a higher state of peace.

Colorado Flood Aftermath Challenges

September 23, 2013
Here are a few of the major challenges after the flooding in Colorado earlier this month of September 2013:
  • Roads are being rebuilt
  • Hundreds, 100s or possibly thousands, over 1000, Colorado natives, literally have nowhere to live, their houses have been destroyed, it might be months before they have a house to live located in the same neighborhood where they were before, they are displaced
    • Authorities are analyzing the situation which might have aspects that remind of Hurricane Katrina
  • Rebuilding efforts of housing
  • Huge amounts of oil have spilled resultant of the flood
  • House insurance concerns:
    • those without adequate insurance
    • maintaining an abatement of fraud

There may very well be a double team set of missile strikes going on on Iran, subject to differing views; however there are still a number of situations going on globally that are weighted, such as violence in different areas of where the Sahel and Northern Africa meet, situations of starvation in the eastern areas of the belt as well; and missile strikes in other regions.

We, HCN, are actively looking for a new host for this website, due to suspect and unusual activity on the website by some other party outside the intended original author, such as changing the message through ditzy misspellings or grammatical alterations, while lives have been sacrificed for decades. We do not bow to racially based societal pressures and notions of constructs devised to facilitate self-degradation.
