Promulgating a Slow Drip Causing Rift in U.S.-Saudi Relations Clearly Out of Bounds of Commonsensical Knowledge Longtime Evident

November 26, 2013
The best action at this juncture, today, within the last few days of November 2013, is to remind of some of the basic facts and history that regard Saudi Arabia, U.S.-Saudi relations, with some carry over to the Middle East in general.

Saudi oil scientists, political leaders, and political analysts, know full well, going in, that the nature of oil is that it slightly moves around beneath the earth's crust.  It is possible that the repositioning of oil over the years, has the changes in dynamics of the oil industry already realized.

Fracking, natural gas, electromagnetic cars, electric cars, deep oil drilling in locations further away from the famed Saudi oil fields, might not necessarily be the 'in the vacuum' obverse of Saudi's share of the market for oil.

Relations between the U.S. and Saudi go back long ago, even before heightened tensions involving modern-day weaponry used in strife in the Middle East, especially such strife concerning Israel occupation.  Relations over the past 3 or 4 decades is quite possible to be viewed as more, pronounced, as close ties.

The geographic borders of the Arab world, and the threshold of the Persian world, and even ancient dynasties that have existed for thousands of years that have the same name as countries today, could be held in some perspectives as having had some change.  Thereon, relations between one country and another, that are ancient, insofar rivalries, might not have the same common denominators in all aspects consistently going back over a thousand years.

Shiites, or Shia-- there are Shia populations in just about everywhere, including Saudi Arabia.  A government that declares that the Sharia, Islam Law, is respected, abides by the rules of fairness described therein, reference the 'tax' levied to those in the population that did claim belief in Islam.

Once again, when it comes to the topic of 'extremism', the world has much to be thankful for, that the advice and in-depth knowledge presented by Saudi scholars and analysts, was set as accurate, on many world affairs and situations involving tensions between nations and entities, successfully precluding unnecessary strife, violence, and waste of pursuits.  In brief, many episodes that could have evolved into 'extremism' were cut short.

Emerging Views Concerning the U.S. Include Questions that Refer to Receding From Recognized Authority on Issues in Middle East Arena

November 14, 2013
It has started.  It was over the past 3 months beginning to gravitate in that direction.  Possible misunderstanding and misinterpretation of what the United States was doing, in the U.S. being diplomatic, cooperating with other nations, gestures of mercy and compassion, the possible misunderstandings and misinterpretations in the form of questions being asked and framed.  The old saying, 'do not mistake our kindness for weakness', might be readily applicable here.

The U.S. has stepped up to make certain that the lives of innocent, such as in places like Syria, and Egypt, and currently, although not technically considered the 'Middle East', to the assistance of the Philippines in the aftermath of a devastating typhoon destruction.  The Pentagon has recently released, that not every iota of strategy insofar cooperation and making progress involves a show of military might.  That the fact upon us, the U.S. in dealing with the situations in Syria, and Egypt, and other locations undergoing intense strife, has performed with degrees of wisdom, illustrating appropriate amounts of give-and-take in the cooperation efforts that involve other nations.

News headline of the following, from <http://www.euronews.com/2013/11/14/is-russia-taking-over-the-us-role-in-the-middle-east/> has presented itself, the entirety a transcript of a translation of the conversation that was originally in Arabic, with excerpts from it:
Is Russia taking over the US role in the Middle East?
14/11 15:45 CET

Thursday’s visit by Russian officials to Egypt has triggered talk of a new era of defence [defense] cooperation between Moscow and Cairo.

To shed more light on the visit, our correspondent in the Egyptian capital, Mohammed Shaikhibrahim, talked to political analyst Samir Ghattas.

Mohammed Shaikhibrahim, euronews: “What is the significance of this visit to Egypt, involving both military and diplomatic officials from Moscow, at this particular time?”

Samir Ghattas: “The policies of the United States have caused serious unease and confusion in the Middle East and in Egypt in particular, especially after the overthrow of the Muslim Brotherhood regime. That led to new policies from the US towards Egypt like pressure on the army and reducing economic and military aid after a while.

“As a result, Egypt has sought out new relations or to be more precise, revived its old relations with different regions of the world, especially with the Russian Federation and maybe later with China, India and other rising powers.

“I suspect that there is also a need to develop economic relations between the two countries, given that Russia is a big exporter of wheat, which Egypt desperately needs.”

euronews: “Why is this new situation,..., not being considered as Moscow taking Washington’s place?”

Samir Ghattas: “I don’t think it could go as far as sharing functional, divisional roles because Moscow and Washington have totally different interests in the Middle East. The United States won’t allow Russia to establish itself again in this region. But if Russia, which already has a strong presence in Syria and close relations with Iran, nurtures its ability to invest in relations with Egypt, well perhaps that could lead to a new era between Moscow and the Middle East.”

YouTube video, that concluded with traditional 'thank you' in Arabic by the interviewer, URL that the transcript was of: <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wB4anaoPqZw>

Evident from reading the article, Dr. Samir Ghattas did not state word for word, of the comments on that webpage, that Russia 'is taking over the role of the U.S.'  The interviewer asks the reverse question of, "Why is this new situation,..., not being considered as Moscow taking Washington’s place?”  However, the article title is indicative that, that the question is being asked, ipso facto, "Is Russia taking over the US role in the Middle East?".  Additionally there lies the possibility that the trend could catch on, unless precluded.

Dr. Ghattas did say, that “the policies of the United States have caused serious unease and confusion in the Middle East..."  That comment gives rise to some concern, especially considering that since the U.S. has held diplomatic gestures in the region in recent months, the number of fatalities in the region has significantly dropped.

Is Egypt wholly seeking or 'has sought out new relations or to be more precise, revived its old relations with different regions of the world..', as a result of "pressure on the army and reducing economic and military aid"?

"The EU appreciates efforts in solving all conflicts from the past, and I believe that could be a very important plus in Serbia's EU integration process," Bobić told SETimes.

The Serbian and Croatian armies participated in 15 joint activities this year. The framework of the joint actions falls under the 2010 agreement on defence co-operation between the two governments.
