Thomas Fire in Southern California and Legion Lake Fire in Southwestern South Dakota Serious Challenges Persisting in Middle of December 2017

December 15, 2017
Thomas Fire near Santa Barbara in southern California and Legion Lake Wildfire in Custer State Park in southwest South Dakota are the big two major wildfires, threatening to life and at high priority levels, going on right now, Thursday night 9:30pm EST

A firefighter has been killed amidst the Thomas Fire.  From Ventura County and Santa Barbara County working southward in California are several other large wildfires, but smaller in proportion to the Thomas Fire consuming about a quarter of a million acres and ranking one of the largest in the State's {state's} history.

Meanwhile in the southwestern region of South Dakota, a fire said to have started more recently, is also bursting with force.

Yes it is December, however, wildfires of the referent magnitude are stilled revved up.

Pretty obvious is that the Thomas Fire has an orange tinge, while the Legion Lake fire looks more yellowish.  Pictures of the fires make it look as though the Thomas Fire appears as if it is flowing like river of flames, while the one in Custer State Park looks more like huge balloons of fire.

Legion Lake Fire under investigation as to how started.

Words of caution:
  • When certain fires get to be large and powerful in magnitude, intensity and so forth, because of flashpoint and other phenomena, fires could spread without actually being ignited through being in contact or sparked by other actual flames
  • Winds might also be driving the spread of fires
  • Fires might be spread beyond just the name of the park they are said to be in news stories
  • All-around cautions need to be taken with fires of these magnitudes, including bison, other animals they might be interfacing with in the chaos not necessarily immediately evident to human analysis of the situation, animals generally, low temperatures kept mindful of such as due to the time of year, high temperatures such as due to proximity of fires, potential of road-hopping of fires, length of daylight, length of night or darkness, and climate aspects like air chemical ratios in connection with the time of year

Las Vegas Strip Harvest Festival Shooting in October 2017 and Similarities to Sandy Hook Elementary Shooting in December 2012

October 3, 2017
An abundance of ammunition the suspect had access to has been a key predominant theme when reflecting on the Sandy Hook Elementary tragedy back the middle of December 2012.

The month of October in 2017, nearly 5 years later, opens up with a perhaps one of the deadliest shootings on U.S. soil performed by an individual on unprotected citizens in at least the past several decades to record; location, was it little that most Americans would suspect?, occurring in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Before even not...

Compton, California: Subject of Focus or Abandoned

September 12, 2017

Every time news stories are looked up having to do with events in Compton, there is enough violent crime on any given day to equal that of some entire states or even countries.

Compton might not make headline national news every day of the week, but if it did, the impression of the amount of crime and type of crime it leaves on viewers could leave less than desirable views.

A simplistic stance of African Americans 'self-destructing' there, and that is their problem, is not an attitude that is l...

Seesaw Imagery Could be Forseen in the Form of Protests About USA Immigration Policy

February 22, 2017
Ordinarily, when an immigration issue presents, it is often seen as a normal challenge to overcome in the process of policy development; sometimes matters are only issues, if it is made an issue, or pretending for it to be an issue, perhaps because there is a grievance taken up against the policy maker.  The framework is President Trump strategies on getting illegal immigration under control.  Not to ramble here, briefly and quick broach, what we are witnessing is protests against some o...

Reminder Discussion of How We Got Into the Immigration Mess We are in Today

February 4, 2017
Making this brief, because some of the subject matter really is not worth bring up.
And not worth bringing up again.

For those that might be in their 20s and 30s, without sinking down into dwelling on every event that happened in U.S. history, estimated from 1950 on, if you do not know, you should at least be aware of what went on.

1, different kinds of trafficking that went on, which should have been clamped down, but some of it was looked the other way from, because some people in higher up po...

A January 2017 Airport Drama of Violence Unfolds

January 7, 2017
Fort Lauderdale Airport in Florida a gunman described as a military veteran 'possibly' suffering from 'hearing voices', opened fire, the result, casualties five or more deceased, less than ten deceased, more than five wounded, less than ten wounded, thus far.  Utilization of the airport transit system as a stage for carrying out violence, once again.  2017 has gotten started off with the ice broken in that regard of airport violence.  The damage done psychologically, such as to numerou...

Content of Popular News Headlines

October 1, 2016
Has the criteria for the headlines changed all that much over the past 3 or 4 decades?  Maybe maybe not.  So much of the news now is online and computer driven, that some of the decisions being made are still human, while technology including with the help of social media, help us attain heights in amassing information in less time for news stories.  A slight downside to this could be some of the computer determined stories as to what goes on the forefront, perhaps calculated by number of vie...

Native Americans Distraught Over Proposed Pipeline in the North Dakota Region Get a Reprieve

September 10, 2016
A large proposed pipeline project, both in physical measurement and monetary figures, has now received a cooling off.

Without speaking too much on special historical aspects of the region, for hundreds of years, perhaps thousands, some of the hills and cliffs either in the locale or not too far off, are both sites of deep contemplation and spiritual matters and symbols thereof.

Protests emerged.  Concerns about the safety of drinking water were also in the rationale of the presentment for oppos...
