Kerr County, Texas Flooding Disaster, July 2025

Posted by HCN on Wednesday, July 9, 2025
The situation has been ongoing for about 5 days now. 100 to 200 missing, 100 to 200 dead.
Part of the dynamics is the heat, which might be anywhere from 75 to 100 degrees outside, and the Guadalupe River running through the hardest hit area. Typically flooding might exist at least in part due to a river rising. Center Point seeks to be the focal point of the most intense flooding. Under 60 miles estimated northwest of San Antonio, and about at the 8 o'clock 100 miles from Austin.
Rescue equipment from the river that works well, might likely help, increased communication, cooling shelters, food and drink for rescue workers, housing for those whose housing has washed away.
This is an as we speak emergency, every second that goes by is valuable.

Fortunately a number of government rescue efforts are being used, such as drones and guardsmen. There have been hundreds reported rescued. Top State government officials are actively involved in the rescue effort. Albeit, there are times when more constructive contributions or at least the offer couldn't hurt.
