After 9-11 of coming up on a quarter of a century ago, the promise 'never forget' still echoes. In some ways it might not have been yesterday, but for those of us that were in adulthood then, and young enough now that still have all faculties fully functioning, it may have been just a few seasons ago. With respect to the vision, or a vision, of an impenetrable, invincible US, and other goals of that ilk, there is definitely still a long way to go.
Here are a few thoughts notes and comments:
How do all these events connect? Do they connect?
More:
Perhaps an overlapping to some degree issue, the use of HBCU- an acronym for historically .....; stopping before saying the b word because it is not good to say.
Honestly, it is not fair to use a dimunitive color to describe people in any circumstance. some of the schools which may 'qualify' as 'HBCUs' when they made theIr debut, neither the founders nor the students referred to themselves by a color, a principle and part of whole rationale for having the school.
Here are a few thoughts notes and comments:
- Numerous first responders to the 9-11 event especally, at 'Ground Zero' in New York, in addton to dealing with trauma in different ways and aspects are also contendng wth illnesses like the respiratory sort and cancer. Still today, responders have passed where those referent illnesses appear to be or may have been a contributor.
- Between yesterday and today (9/10), there has been a school shooting in Colorado; [Colorado has seen others before such as Columbine].
- Additionally, different schools including university levels are on lockdown, such as in New Jersey.
- Yesterday saw a tragic event where an individual said to be just 31 years old, had his life taken from a gunshot while at a political rally. Confer our previous story, about the shooting at a university in Utah on 9/10.
