2016 Rio Olympics: An Interesting Moment in Global History Thus Far Rolls On, with a Few Moments of Drama

A few days into the 2016 Olympics in Rio, developments both in the Olympic Games themselves and the corresponding changes in social aspects of culture on an international scale have seen a few changes.
In regards to drama, at first the title of this story was the Olympics have seen a 'Few Specks of Drama', to illustrate that they are held relative to incidents more severe, however, each moment's magnitude is bigger in some eyes than others. For example, the coaches that underwent the robbery might have been impacted more than readers of stories about the incident thousands of miles away days later. So we wen ahead and put both, Olympics a moment in global history, and moments within the event.

There are reports that around this past weekend, members of the Lebanese Team did not allow members of the Israeli Team on a bus. In some way, often times given Olympic athletes are young, this kind of rivalrous behavior of momentary hazing unfortunately might be almost expected from some of them. The story is pretty much water under the bridge now, the Olympic Committee said they will not have any tolerance for further incidents of the sort, the head of the Lebanese Olympic delegation was reprimanded, and everyone appears to have moved on.
Protests about political and economic matters around the beginning of the Games.
There are feelings that the banned coaches list might be too lax in terms of the time it takes to preclude sexual predators.
A few folks have been banned or sent home for failing banned substances.
Australian rowing coaches robbed at knifepoint.
Wonders are, with all the security and safety precautions put in place, how could that happen?
The incident evidently happened while the coaches were walking back to their hotel Friday night, in the Ipanema Beach area.
